Suitable Setup For Hooking Macbook Pro Up To Television?

I am planning on hooking my brand new 15.4" macbook pro upto my Sony television. As macbooks do not have s-video, I am planning on using my DVI to VGA cable that was supplied with my computer, however, I still need a VGA to Component Video to plug into the television. I am wondering if I need to buy a $100+ VGA to Component Video converter or if a VGA to Component video RCA cable would be suitable?
