Ordered a Laptop from Dell.?

i ordered an Inspiron laptop from Dell on 8/12/07, its estimated ship date is 8/29/07. i understand that it's taking longer because they're having problems with parts and paint colors on their XPS's... will that affect mine? meaning their delays with a different model? and does anybody know if they're having any current parts shortages?

I ordered my Inspiron 1520 on august 14th, and my estimated ship date is aug 29, same as yours. It depends on what colour you chose, currently black or white have no delays while the remaining colours do. If you chose black or white for your notebook, your order should ship on (or sometimes even before) the estimated date

EDIT - to ASKER: from what i have been hearing the 1501 ships right on time because it is simple and doesnt require colour or high end parts. Actually if you want to be more sure u can contact dell customer service and they will tell u how the 1501 is doing compared to others, but from what i have been reading, the 1501 has no delays whatsoever!

you can track your order by calling or going online and it will tell you if it has been shipped or not and estimated time of arrival. Good luck.
