Help with Dell Inspiron 6000? Setup cd-rom?
Answers:
You could try system restore back the the farthest point, but I doubt that will work. The only way other then that is find out if you can reinstall the OS with out the basic setup CD, and using a normal windows instalation disk.

Stop asking questions more than once.
You can, but it will take some work. First you will need to go to dell website and download and save ALL your drivers. Then you will need a Windows XP CD, which you can usually purchase from a local repair shop, just tell them you dont have your disc, but you have your C.O.A., Boot from the disc, delete partition C:, format the unpartitioned space, install Windows XP, install your drivers.
WARNING!! You will lose ANY and ALL data that you currently have on your hard drive if you follow these steps. If you dont feel comfortable doing this, take it to a local repair shop, and tell them you just want a format and reinstall.
Best of luck
