How do you wipe your computer clean and reset it to the original factory settings (get rid of EVERYTHING)?

Answers:
That's usually only something I would do as a last resort!

The best way to do this is completely re-installing windows, you WILL LOOSE EVERYTHING STORED ON YOUR HARD DRIVE!!!

To do this you'll need the Operating System (OS) disk that came with your PC.

You will need to boot up from the CD and then follow the on screen instructions, they're pretty straight forward to be honest, but I would recommend printing out a step-by-step guide before you start so if you get lost you know what to do.

I've included links to a few guides in my sources(even one from Micro$oft themselves) that are pretty easy to follow.

Hope this helps

You need the recovery discs supplied with the pc
theres no restore factory settings, most prolly u wanna reformat ur pc
just format ur comp & use the recovery disc
If you dont have the recovery disk, you cannot reset the computer to the original factory settings. You can however purchase a copy of a Windows operating system and install it while formatting the hard drive in the process.

If you format the hard drive without a recovery disk or an Operating System disk, you will have a paper weight instead of a computer.
Make sure you have good backups before you format your drive. Only backup what you cannot replace. Do not backup the operating system or installed programs you will have to reinstall them.
