How to buy UPS for a laptop?

i have a laptop which has a battery that goes up to 2.5 hrs but in the area i live, we have power failure for longer than this.. what configuration of UPS should i buy that will power my laptop and the modem for at least a hour? how much will that cost?

Answers:
Laptops have a pretty decent battery life and also have a DC adaptor. They work on DC and also operate within certain voltages depending on model. Since they can operate in battery mode, UPS is not necessary. The below link will have other useful products to prevent electrical surges and other problems from power supply.
Also u can have a spare battery in hand

Do rate if this had helped...
well UPS is not recommended for laptops at all because the frequency and voltage regulation of UPS does not provide the optimum power to laptops and moreover it provides slightly more voltage which can damage your laptop adapter or laptop...i will advice you to have separate sets of laptop batteries instead...
