Apple iBooks?
Answers:
The specs are OK. If you can't afford a new MacBook, this is a good option. You will fill up the hard drive though quickly. The 512 mb of ram is OK for MacOS X, but it might be a bit slow. It should also have MacOS 9 on it since it is not an Intel processor. My daughter has one, she's happy with it. She doesn't do much more than email etc. At least you won't have to worry about viruses and malware. Note, it didn't have a DVD burner.
If it is a G4 it probably comes with iLife '04+ and I wouldn't recommend any Apple Computer with a processor older than a G5. The new iLife and iWork bundles don't work with G4 and older processors, and some slower G5s.
