How to view videos and movies in fullscreen??

I recently got a new widescreen laptop. However when viewing movies and videos in fullscreen the entire screen is not used. The left and right sides of the display screen is not covered. The problem is same in Windows Media Player, PowerDVD, VLC player and other media players. Wht do I do??

Answers:
May I know what source is your movies? Is it DVD discs? Avi files...

As for Avi files, if they are encoded with a certain resolution, when you put to full screen it will be bigger but it wont use the whole screen properly.

Unless you are watching a Widescreen DVD.
Dear

Simply click twice ALT+ENTER otherwise click Right Button of the Mouse in the Middle of the Media Player and select FULL SCREEN option.

I know in Windows Media Player, you can do it simply by doing <ALT> <ENTER> And you can do that again to make it small again.
actually your laptop has the screen which is wider than the resolutin of the movies which are shot so that's y u dont get that big a screen resolutin of movies

if u have good internet then search out for wide screen resolution movies which are available for downloads
right click any blank space on your desktop , click ' properties '. in display properties click ' settings ' in the 'screen resolution area ', drag the bar to change the monitor resolution until the screen shows full screen . .. You may need to restart the computer after each setting good luck .
I love Power DVD and buy it for every pc. Works flawlessly with videos and DVD's, including all CODECs.

It has a full screen mode that takes over the whole screen, period. You can try a 30 day version from http://www.cyberlink.com/
