I have a Dell Inspiron 1501, its about a year old. I just recently went to turn it on and when I did I noticed a big black line down the middle of the screen. A few days went by and it would come back and go away. But now when I turn it on the whole right side of the screen its black with panels of different colors and I can only see a portion of the left side. I was wondering if there is anyway that I can repair this. Or if it would be best of calling Dell and seeing what they say...but keeping in mind my warranty is up. Or my last resort, purchase a new laptop.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

You are looking at around $150 for the panel alone then 2 hours of labor to install it. You will be looking at over $200 for the total cost.
if you have a dell warranty it can possibly be fixed. but honestly a 19" lcd you can get maybe around 200 which is pretty cheap
