I have a Compaq Presario notebook, and I also have an HP Pavilion I want to know if there is a way that i can use my recovery cds from my HP in my COMPAQ. When I tried it out it said that the system does not support it. Is there any other way? (I would use my recovery for my compaq, but i never made cds to recover, because i have a recovery system that does not use cds, and when i start my notebook up im supposed to hit F11 to begin the recovery process, but when i go to do it the F11 button doesnt do anything.) please help thanks
Answers:
No, Recovery CDs are hardware specific.
It sounds like your Recovery directory was deleted. Call Compaq tech support to get the Recovery CD set.
