Is it not detecting in the BIOS or during start up. You need to install an Operating System.

Do you have installation disks?

If it's not detecting in BIOS you installed it wrong or you need to return it.
No, you shouldn't need to 'install' anything for your pc to recognise it. Try looking in your BIOS settings.
No go into the bios and see if it's their if the bios can't see it then windows wont either and you can't install windows on to it.
