A simple question about computer processesors.?
If the Duo Core @ 1.2 GHZ is better then the Pentium 4 @ 3.2 GHZ, why is that when more GHZ are on the Pentium 4?
Thanks for ur answers =)
Answers:
At 3.2GHz the Pentium will process faster than a Core Duo at 1.2GHz, even though the Core Duo has better and faster memory access (cache and FSB) and will run cooler.
If you can afford a faster Core Duo, then go for that, but if the Pentium is cheaper than got for that instead.
For games use, it's more important that you have a good enough graphics card built-in as it's unlikely you'll be able to upgrade the graphics on a notebook. For movies and school work etc. both will be able to work fine.
hell on
What matters to you more: speed or battery life? If battery life, choose the slower one.
the primary difference (aside architecture and such) is the amount of work per cycle. The pentium 4 may operate at 3.2ghz but it will do a considerable amount less per cycle then the core2duo.
