What are the perks of a Macbook?
I'm thinking about getting one from Apple but am now leaning towards one of those cheaper ones.
What makes the Macbook, not Pro, worth the extra $500?

MACS ARE WORTH IT!!
Everyone in my family INSISTS on having a PC (mostly because my brother is a gamer and my mom a programmer) except me. They have gone through so many PC's be it laptops or desktops. I have had the same macbook for years. NEVER a problem. You'll never get a virus, updates are automatic, it truly is USER FRIENDLY. The only time i would suggest a PC is if you are a nerdy gamer or programmer.
Unfortunately, these days, you're mostly paying for the name. The Macbooks are nice if you're into heavy-duty music/photo editing. But if you're an average computer user, something like an Acer or Dell would do just fine.
