first of all, since you restored the factory settings, just check and make sure you have the latest drivers installed. next, go to the task manager (ctrl-alt-del) click on the processes tab and look for the very high usage processes under mem usage. high numbers for a process means that it is using alot of system resources. click end task on all processes that you do not need for the system to run, and to play the game. do NOT end explorer.exe, SMTray.exe, svchost.exe or other processes started by the SYSTEM username. next, open your game, go back to the task manager processes. right click on ur games exe process, go to set priority and set it to Realtime. this gives your game the most resources and will definitely improve your game lag.
and if you are playin multiplayer online, you want to turn OFF the firewall, not on. having a firewall makes the game slower or even denies you from joing certain hosts/servers.
Well i think your overloading your computer. Too many things are going on...games...documents...progr... What you have to do is delete some of them. Chance are if u dont, a virus is gonna take over. I suggest you add some kind of security firewall. Hope this helps! Good luck!
