I am looking to buy a laptop.. i have no idea which to look for,i want it to be wireless..run secondlife?
* be portable (preferably anywhere not just at home)
*be able to download pics
*check emails etc
* preferably for under 2500 including absolutley everything i need to set it all up

Alot of people say Sony, and Apple are the best. And you can definitely get one for that price range. But if you want to go cheaper try some of the high end HP's, Toshiba's, Compaq, and Dell. The high end ones usually run for around $1000-1200.
You'll want at least 1 GB of RAM and a decent video card. If you need to lug it around, I would recommend something that isn't too heavy. Probably a 15.4" monitor will do fine.
The top choice at that budget would be the Toshiba X205;
