I have an old compaq presario v2000, it stopped working a while ago just wouldnt turn on for more than a second. No idea why, tried turning it on 2night and it says "Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082) copyright (c) 1997-200 Intel corporation, For Realtek RTL8139(x)/8130/810x PCI Fast ethernet controller v2.13 (020326), PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable, PXE - M0F: Exiting PXE ROM" it just flashes all that and goes blank then flashes it again and again. I have looked on google and apparently its something to do with the boot order, cant test that theory though as the DVD drive stopped working just before the laptop died
Anybody please explain to me what all this means and how i can fix the problem? thanks in advance

Im not sure how old your laptop is, but from the looks of things Im looking at your question and I see that the copywright is from 1997-2000. If you bought your laptop back then, it may be time to get a new one. I would say take it to a computer store like compusa, but the laptop may be too old to be fixed. So much more new equipment, software, and hardware has been developed since then, that a computer tech probably would not even bother trying to fix it, he would more than likely tell you its time for a replacement. But, don't fret because compaq has made newer and better laptops for cheaper prices. I own one and love it!!
