I have a G4 PowerBook which is 2 years old. I have never replaced the battery but it has always held a charge until now. When I first looked at the battery level it read 99%. Then, I unplugged my laptop and it shut down. This happened everytime I tried to unplug the computer. Now the battery display has an x instead of the % charged. Anyone else out there having Battery problems?

That's about the life of a battery. You can double check on the Apple site, there were some defective batteries made by Sony that were recalled. Best guess, is you'll need to buy a battery. Don't get one on eBay, there are a lot of el cheapos masquerading as apple batteries.
