Should I buy Gateway/$799 or Toshiba/$849 laptop? Same specs: 2GB memory,160GB HD,Core 2 Duo,webcam. TIA!?

I use the laptop only for home computing, some video/photo editing, hardly ever travel, although I do like to carry the laptop around the house. These are within my budget and seem the best value in the current sales. Thanks for helping me!

I don't want to purchase the extended warranty, but should I? Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Answers:
When evaluating laptops, don't just look at the current specs, look also at expandability. For example, how much more memory it can take, etc. Either one of these sound fine, all things being equal. At these prices, it's hard to justify buying an extended warranty, since new and cheaper ones come out fairly often.
hmm in reality there is not much difference between the two..
You must spend your money for the best brand.

As I know HP and Dell are the best in laptops for a long time and they are very reliable too. I trusted HP and I bought a HP laptop 2 years before, and still like the day I bought it. Didn't even have to service it at least once up to now.

I recommend you to buy a HP (with experience) or Dell laptop.

On www.hp.com you can even customize your laptop. And also you can check the price.
