newegg.com and tigerdirect.com are fabulous places check them out. depending on what you do 750 isnt gunna get you the best desktop however its going to get you something a little over middle line. starting line being crap, middle line being okay, and, finish line being fantastic. you almost always should get what you pay for in a computer. be sure to check the feed back on those stores. if you dont like online stores go to circuit city or something and theyll clue you in on a really kick butt computer for your price range. building your own computer is great and I reccomend it. If you dont know how to you can have someone do it for you, but its always good to learn. I learned myself by a guide. Its pretty straight forward. If you don't want to just have someone build one to your specs or buy a namebrand computer that lives up to your expectations. Asus is my first reccomendation. Gateway is my second. And Dell is my third.

If you are handy with a screwdriver and have patience, go to any number of sites on line and order the parts and build your own. You can save quite a bit and get quality parts. I've had great luck ordering from TigerDirect (www.tigerdirect.com) and MultiWave (www.mwave.com).
If you do go to Dell, HP, Gateway or any other site, the problem is that you get their packaged software installed. I want to put on my computer what ***I*** want, not what Dell, HP or Gateway thinks I need! That's why I build my own systems.
For $750 you can order parts and assemble them for a pretty nice system. No, it won't be cutting edge, but it will be very nice and last you for at least a couple of years. Sites like Tom's Hardware can lead you through the entire process of ordering and then assembling your own PC.
