Ram modules, can I use a DDR3200/400MHz in lieu of a DDR2700/300MHz in my computer?
Answers:
Yes you can, bare in mind.. ALL your memory modules will operate at the lowest common speed (if you mix pc2700 with pc3200 it will all run at pc2700) You may also wish to pull the manual for that specific motherboard to see what the highest speed it supports is (should auto downclock to an acceptable speed if pc3200 isnt supported)
Speed is not what you need to look at. Make sure it has the same number of pins; certain sites also let you compare compatibility
if any of your friends have the DDR3200/400Mhz ram with them try installing that ram into your pc's ram slot and start your pc if it boots perfectly then you can buy a new one for ur self
no because the clock memory speed of your computer is ddr2700/300mhz and you are going to to put higher than that. the motherboard of your computer would not be compatible from ddr3200/400mhz because the clock memory speed is lower
generally, yes.
if your motherboard doesn't support the full speed of the RAM, it should underclock it to the highest speed it does recognize..
no, ddr3 wont work for a slot made for ddr2
You can use both of them but your RAM will run on the lowest speed of the RAM
e.g:
PC2700 use with PC3200, your RAM speed will be PC2700
