Why is my laptop going so slow?
Answers:
Delete files or move them onto DVDs. Uninstall unused programs. Make sure you dont have any large files like movies saved on your desktop as this can slow startup times. Always recommend running a virus scan to make sure this is not the problem. Also try a different antivirus program like AVG as Norton slows the system down a lot. Its always the last thing you have to wait to load. Finally you can remove startup programs:
Start> run> msconfig> startup> and untick programs like MSN or itunes that you dont need to run on startup. Make sure you do not remove any vital Windows components.
Its old maybe. Too little system resources like RAM, and a slow processor. Time for an upgrade.
Laptops arent meant to be jammed with programs and other stuff. delete files and add RAM
Or you have too much information stored on it.Maybe it,s time to delete what you don,t need after backing it all up on disc(copying it to a disc).Downloading alot of things will slow it down too.
swap file prolly corrupt
manually check your windows/temp directory is empty
check your diskspace, you need free space (20% should be ok) for windows to operate
is it attatched to the web, take that off to see if its spyware etc
hmm can u mention slow while u configure you hard , or slow in start up
or slow in anything
r u connected with larg network
if while u configure your hard try to close some application which use lot of memory
if in start up write msconfig in run command and uncheck some programs from start up programs
if you connected to larg network , it may be appear slow some times but its normal dont worry
if not anything of that
try to see any exist spywares or viruses , and check ur drives space , dont fill hard drives
it is simple.the memory is overloaded, reduce the softwares
Ctrl+Alt+Del. have a look at what is going on and what is running.but don't play about to much.
if you google the exe file that is running you will find out if you need it.
then google msconfig and have a read.
