AVG is free - make sure you have downloaded the free version and not a free-trial of one of their premium products.
Re-scan with another checker on Download.com
Take the advice of the second answer but, also run Windows Live Scan as this will fix any errors in the Registry
Download and run Advanced Windows Care V2 it's free that should sort it out. But just in case download and run CCleaner that's also free it will sort out your system registry.
