Laptop prices?
thanks everyone
Answers:
i got mine from Staples for around £400, it has the latest windows and quite good spec's for the price...but you can get other brand new laptops for £300 easily if you shop around.PC world might be worth a look
They tend to hold their value very well! Have you considered a new one? You can get a reasonable spec for £400 or even £300 if you really cut corners. Thing is if you get a 2nd hand one the battery will probably be on it's last legs and that's £50 to replace on many of them. I'd only bother with this route if your going for a real cheap one (£50 or so). Although I'd not expect much for that kind of money. Maybe try classified ads in your local paper. Might find someone selling one who doesn't realise what it's worth. They tend to go for a fair bit on ebay and the like.
e-bay.
Comet and Curry's have some good deals.
Check the in-store prices of units at Best Buy and Circuit City. I got a really nice one for grandson for $499. Labor Day sales should have some great buys, just get there early since quantity if very limited. Some of the office supply stores have good prices at the holidays so don't forget to check the ads.
You can get one from £250 with Vista Home Basic package at www.ShoreLineXL.com
any reputable store should be fine, compUSA, Best Buy, Circut City etc. buying in the store is generally cheaper than online. for a better deal try getting a laptop that is a few months old, they're still plenty new but not first strig price anymore. I understand that you need a good deal but try not to downgrade too much. for exaple avoid Acer, a discount laptop brand. I've overheard service reps at CompUSA talking about how in the latest batch of 10 laptops they recieved, 7 started up blue screen the first time they were turned on. you don't want those kind of odds.
I recommend buying one from compusa simply because they will be more likely to answer any technical questions you may have as they are a computer store. I bought my laptop from there and the associates were extremely helpful. Also compusa always have great deals on laptops year round. So you are sure to find one for your daughter there at a great price.
I found this site to be helpful. You can quickly check going prices for new and used laptops from a bunch of differnet manufacturers. http://www.mylaptopdirectory.com...
you can try in ebuyer website they have installment system and also you can buy in ebay
E-bay is the best place to go for your first laptop not that expensive either.
