How can you tell if you labtop battery is dying?

alot of times my labtop will not start or will require alot of charging time to work (after about 4 hrs it will freeze). if i restart it right after it freezes...it will freeze up again after 10 mins or so. any ideas?

Take it to a Battery store and they should be able to test it or at least help you out
get the battery replaced
It won't hold a charge anymore!
sounds like a mother board problem.

But if you are sure that it is a battery issure, most standard lap top batteries do not last more than a year. If your comp is over a year old try replacing the battery. You may have to purchase it online because most places even big places like fry's don't carry a replacement.

good luck.
there should be a battery time indicator, and if its dying alot sooner than it used to then u should replace it
If your laptop dies often, it's a good sign that your battery's worn out. A rechargeable battery isn't rechargeable forever, they wear out eventually (as my laptop battery has, and I don't have enough money to replace it :( ). You can find the model number of your laptop or laptop's battery and buy a replacement online, I got the one I have now on eBay, just cause it was cheap, but it's only lasted a year and it only gives 20 to 30 minutes now.
