My laptop turns off for no reason and I just replaced the fan, whats going on?

My laptop turns off for no reason at random time and I just replaced the fan. I've noticed so far (for some weird reason) that when its just running off the battery it does not shut down randomly, only when its on the AC adapter. Whats wrong with it? Is it the adapter or something inside the computer?

Answers:
double check and make sure it is charging i had a dell inspiron that was doing this and here the connection point for the charger wasn't working right and i hadto wiggle it in there which later lead to paying a crap load of money to getting it fixed
i assuming you mean the fan on the bottom? that might be your heatsink to your CPU and if it overheats it will shut itself off so it doesn't fry itself. make sure that it is securely in place
The only thing with the above answer is that this issue happens only on the AC adapter.

Could be that the AC adapter is at fault but the only to test it would be a replacement.

Next thing would be the charging/power circuitry on the main-board. This would also require a replace, but the cost would be alot higher.
try making sure that the AC adapter is connected tight and it doesn't come loose if you accidentally kick it or something
