Where can i buy.?

a cheap, but relatively good laptop. I don't need it for work so it doesn't have to have loads of fancy gadgets, just enable me to use Word, excel and have the internet. And not crash or freeze every 5 seconds. Any sensible answers?

Answers:
Try looking at Sam's Club, if you have one locally, or go to the Averatec website at http://www.averatec.com to order or discover where else you can find them. They make a line of notebooks to fit a variety of budgets and needs and seem to be reliable.

I would, however, stay away from Lenovo notebooks as my company, and others, have seen a high failure rate either out of the box or within weeks of purchase.
bestbuy has some good deals on new simple laptops.
oh hello like what you willing to spend
I would say ebay
i'd recommend going to a decent local store (not PC world) and getting one there, then you can always get tech suport if you need it.

alternatively browse online or buy direct from manufacturer.
walmart and buy an internet card ibm is cheap
Get a dell 1501 this will give you reliability speed and comfortability for $499 you cant go wrong

Have fun!
you can try in ebuyer website they have very low budget laptop so you can choose which one is good for you also you can try in ebay as long as u have experince buying things in ebay.

currently in pcworld they are doing in a offer if you buy orange internet connection for £ 14.99 p/m you will get a free laptop with basic features.
circut city and best buy and staples
Most major stores now sell them. Look at Tesco and Asda web sites as they target students and usually have some reasonabley priced, more than adequate laptops.
Don't forget that most pc prices do not include Microsoft Word or Office software, only Works is usually free. Don't think Excel is included with Works. Always check what is included in the price. Good luck.
You can buy a reliable Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092 from Pricemad for only $1,125.
in the uk go to Http:\\www.morgans.com
You could go to apple.com and get a refurbished (used) MacBook or MacBook Pro. They are pretty cheap when they're used. Mac also runs Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc..) and comes with many internet browsers (Safari, iCab, Camino). It has a built in WiFi card (wireless internet card).
You could try ShoreLineXL.com. they have one for £299 you can check out the reviews on it too. here is the exact link:
