go to walmart they have cheap laptops even dells , hp , compaq , and others for $399 and up
Acer laptops are nice. there are those with 80 gigs of memory and are very worth it. Mine is aspire 5541AWXMi
get the new dell inspinon laptop, they redesign, you can choose different color as cover, keyboard is just the mac one. they added option camera and even thumb finger log in. Price is good as well, the thing about mermoy, you can always added you self is easy, just open the panel back, stick additional mermoy out there, go to site like newegg.com for cheap memory.
if you want to go with a laptop, the best way you can go is Dell. The batteries will last longer and they usial already have the best spyware/virus protection you can get. i just bought a Dell XPS 1710 Laptop and probably the smartest choice ive made. and it also looks real sharp.
yup, just go to a salesperson there and tell them exactly what you asked here and they'll give you a list of laptops to choose from on your price range
Laptops are the best way to go . I 'm looking too. Last night I went on line to Wal-Mart. They have several varieties. Make sure you get one with a Lo-jack,because people steal them easily.
Doesn't sound like a tablet would be good for you. I would stick with a regular style laptop if i were you. Find one that suits you then make sure you get the components that will make it run good for your needs. Also i haven't checked i a while but wernt those things more expensive then conventional laptops? If it is still true then you could get a better preforming laptop for the same price.
I like these websites: www.newegg.com and www.geeks.com. It seems they are weekly having great sales and have good information about their products along with a return policy. I have used Dell's for a long time. They have a new one out that looks great too. What's new is the Inspiron 1420 that comes in different colors. Here's their website: http://www.dell.com/content/products/pro...
Good luck and have fun.
check out the new dell models, the 1420 and 1520. good pricing right now and dell always has great deals out. i highly suggest ordering quickly, because dell has a promotional offer right now where they give you 2gb ram upgrade for free (a few hundred dollar upgrade) and a 160GB hard drive (which could possibly be a hundred dollar upgrade). splurge like crazy!
Laptop is the way to go. I have had both, and love my new laptop's versitility. I have less wires and can bring it with me in any room in the house or anywhere I go, like vacation, work, coffee shop, other peoples houses, etc.
You can get them now with wide screens, 17 inch and with the "ten key" numbers on the key pad. Plus you can get a wirless mouse for $20-30 dollars for them. Again less wires. You can do all things with them you can do with a desk top, and have the mobility you need. If you have a desk top at home that is working, you can even keep that and just get a router, easy to hook up, and use you lap top anywhere in the house.
I shopped around and ended up with the best deal with an HP. I got an HP Pavillion Entertainment PC and can upload pics, watch movies, listen to CD's and everything else a desk top would do. I have a lot less wires to worry about. They all come with WiFi (wirless internet connection) now.
Desk tops are big and only needed at a sit still desk job. Actually I think desk tops are out of date.
You can get lap tops with as much memory as you want. What I did was purchase one with moderate memory (costs less) and then a couple months later added a memory card. This way I saved money. Laptops are overall a better deal these days, cost wise.
Hope this helps. I got mine on sale at office max for under $1000 and love it. They are very helpful and knowledgable there and can answer all your questions. Go for it.
