So I'm off to college and I just got my laptop. I need to be able to go wireless. What's the difference ...

between wi-fi, a laptop internet connection card, or some other wireless internet features? What do you think is the best and most affordable?

Answers:
For wireless, you basically have two types. There's normal wifi (802.11a/b/g), and there's the broadband anywhere from AT&T/Sprint. The broadband anywhere you pay a monthly fee and buy a card. Normal wifi is good for most people. Most newer laptops have wifi built-in.
Hopefully the laptop came with built in wireless or you are going to have to buy a wireless card and it usually plus in to the side of laptop and receives wirelees signal thru the air.
you probably, hopefully, got an internal wireless card, which is a standard feature these days on laptops. go to device manager and check to see if you have anything. it should be under "network" something.
