Why is my Toshiba Satellite laptop spontaneously shutting off?
Answers:
Chances are that it is overheating. The processor heat exchanger is clogged with debris and needs to be cleaned. Often times you need to replace the thermal compound between the processor and heatsink. A good cleaning and replacing the thermal compound should fix this for you. If you are uncomfortable opening up your laptop call a computer tech to do it for you. If you list the model I may be able to find a tear down procedure for you. It's pretty easy and only requires simple tools.
Good Luck

What Carl N said is one thing to think about and could very possibly be your problem, but it could be something as simple as your power settings, check them and make sure they aren't set to shut down after a certain amount of time being idle or something, depending on your os it may be different to change these settings, but in windows generally you can locate this option in control panel.
