I recently just reformatted my Dell Inspiron 6000 by using the Dell PC Restore. I had a couple of questions. First: Is it normal that when I remove some software that came with the computer that I have to retry a second time before it is successful? Second, I installed updates for Windows and then restarted my computer, but then it again asks me to update my security. Am I supposed to keep updating it?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'when I remove some software that came with the computer that I have to retry a second time before it is successful?'
Your other question. Yes you will have to do multiple windows updates as some updates rely on previous updates being installed. You can do this two or three times after a fresh installation.
