Whats the best laptop at a reasonable price?

It would be used mostly for doing school work, storing music files and watching streaming videos

Whats your price range? That's #1. For normal users, you want a laptop with atleast 1 GB ram and has Vista Premium. Hp/Compaq is a good brand for those credentials. Toshiba isn't bad either.

Intel Centrino Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processor or strictly Intet Core 2 Duo

80 Gb or higher Hard drive

128 Mb of graphics Intel GMA 950 or Geforce 6100 (i believe) or similar


2 GB of Ram is a MUST.

14 to 15.4 Inch LCD widescreen ( not to heavy to carry)


DVD R+/- RW drive with Double Layer support

or Blu-ray drives and burners ( this costs alot tho)

and any other features,

Usb Ports, Wireless, S video (or Hi def), Sound, etc

a laptop worth 899 to 1199 CDN is a good deal
