Why won't my computer won't stream video or music online?
I have a Microsoft Vista laptop, dual-core 1.86 GHz Intel CPU, 2.00 GB RAM, and a 256 MB video card, so I know it's not my technology...I shouldn't have any problems playing video with those specs...Oh, and my internet connection is mid-range DSL.
Answers:
its vista.it has some real bad issues with streaming.the drm software thinks your a thief 90% of the time.
when i rolled back to xp pro all was ok .
i have a dual boot system on my laptop vista and xp.
xp all streaming fine.vista will do the same as yours lag, jump or just stop all together.
its vista there is a fix loads more memory.if your graphics is useing 256mb then that only leaves 1.5gb for vista and vista needs 2gb all to its self...
I was having that same problem when I would use real player but not with windows media. Some videos are flash and you might not have an up to date flash player on your comptuer. I also used to have dsl and videos would do that so it might just be the dsl. since I have upgraded to cable internet I have no problems with watching videos
