What notebook computer is recommended for photography use such as image editing?
Answers:
Ah...photo editing...the only thing the Mac is good for. Well, if your are just gonna use your computer for photo editing, I suppose it doesn't really matter what kind of computer you get. Both Mac and Windows have an excellent free program called the GIMP which is a terrific photo editor. I would just buy the cheapest computer you can find if you just want to edit photos.
if you want to go ahead with mac, i would reccommend the macbook pros. don't be worried about software, as there are plenty of good programs out there. for pcs, i would probably go with sony. they tend to be better for things like that in the PC family, and have pretty good reliability. for amatuers, the Macs come with iLife '06, which includes a photo editor called iPhoto. i'm not sure if you need something more professional than that. just a little sidenote, I LUVVVVVVVV MY MAC :)
I just recently got a MacBook Pro and PhotoShop and couldn't be happier =)
well a Mac is a great multimedia Computer with Video\Music\Picture Editing. The downside is that a MacBook Pro Costs around 1000-2000 bucks. + Software. And it's hard to run Microsoft Windows Programs. but if you have windows and a Home PC Network (Mac to PC to whatever) then that cuts off about 800 bucks on additional software that you already have for windows...
A Windows Laptop is really great! My freind said not to get a Vista Computer but if a store or the manufacturer sells any Windows XP Computer like Dell! Any PC with:
Windows XP - 512MB or 1GB Ram! - 120Gig Hard Drive.. any thats all you need. all pc's come with a CD-R Burner so if you like pick up a couple of CD-Rs or Flash Memory Chips. And you might want to consider a multi memory stick Reader for your computer (if it does'nt come with one).
Hope it helps!
For image editing, I would highly recommend a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092.
