Would a rgb cable connect my laptop image with my tv? If not how do i do connect them together?

I think you mean a VGA cable. If your TV doesn't have an input for one, then you need a converter which can convert the VGA to an input that your TV accepts, such as S-Video or Component.
Most notebook have VGA out that would go to a typical monitor. Some HDTV's have VGA, DVI, and even HDMI.
You can pick up adapter cables that will make VGA into Component (RGB) if you TV only has these types of inputs.
