How do you copy DVD's with a laptop DVD recorder?

I just got a new laptop and wnna know how to copy a DVD. I can record home movie from my camcorder. But is there anyway to record DVD's? There must be! Do I need a separate program?

Answers:
first you will need burning software such as NERO installed then download and install DVD Shrink, then insert the dvd you wish to copy into your drive then start dvd shrink, in the top left corner of the shrink box clic on the OPEN DISK button then clic on backup follow the simple instructions to set up source drive and target drive which in your case will be the same shrink will then go through the process off encoding and reading the disc once finished the disc will self eject you then put in your blank dvd and close the drawer but dont clic ok it will start by itself and Nero will write the movie to the blank disk automatically.
If i understand what you are trying to do, you want to take a home made DVD and copy it to another DVD? If that is the case, here is what you will need to do. Because you are using only one drive on the laptop it will take longer. First import all of the files from the dvd to a set location on the hard drive. Then put in a new blank dvd and cut and paste the files into the window and they will be in the temporary files and then just burn them onto the disc.
