Have hp pavilion dv4000 laptop. when trying to start it, it does not start, it freezes. need help?

laptop kind of go into the freeze mode when it start. you can see the window logo and when i tilt the base of laptop or apply pressure near the touch mouse on the laptop then it starts loading the operating system. but sometimes it works fine. i have run the recovery disk and loaded the software but it still gives me problem.

Answers:
Knowing that you have to tilt or apply pressure is a huge red flag.Chances are your laptop is physically damaged, specifically the hard drive. If it boots when you change the angle it means that the heads on the hard drive are likely faulty and failing. The pressure problem may indicate a cracked board or peripheral. I'm near willing to bet that your warranty has expired so you going to have to make a decision as to how to treat this problem. Three choices a)new hard drive may do the trick B) Send it in for service. This can be very pricey which brings me to C) shop for a new affordable laptop with an extended warranty.
