it depends on how its configured imo .. but generally i would say toshiba ..
toshiba, if you're looking for the best features and reliability. compaq, if you're looking for a cheap laptop.

Compaq is in the lower tier of laptop as far as performance and reliability. A Toshiba laptop will serves you better.
really they are all the same in the end. YOu get the same stuff just differnt warents custmer service. Thats easy to find they usualy tell you about a warnety when you buy something.
