Why cant i double click by tapping the mouse pad on my laptop anymore .?

iv got to use the buttons instead now . anyone know how to fix it .

In the Control Panel (Start Menu) look for "MOUSE" and there should be a section for touchpad devices. Make sure it is selected for double tapping. You may need to recalibrate the speed at which it recognizes the tap.

I touched my pad after taking off a fleece jacket and it shorted out the touchpad. After a reboot, I had to reconfigure and it started working fine.
