Virus Problem?

I have a virus on my IBM think pad and want to format the hard drive completely and reinstall a Windows O.S.

In other words totally wipe the PC clean and start all over again from scratch.

Best thing is to use the restoration cds that came with the laptop. If you don't have them then get a new OS. Personally I would try a Linux flavor like ubuntu. Otherwise you can purchase a Microsoft OS. Just remember XP needs at least 512 MB to run decent and Vista needs 2GB. Just Boot to the CD and follow the prompts Good Luck
Well, getting a couple of anti-virus programs and erraticating the virus is a lot easier and you wont lose any saved information you have on the pc.
