What can I do to hibernate my laptop?

go to control panel>power options>hibernate tab then enable hibernation
now while after clicking on shut down press shift key , the stand by option will change into hibernate then u can hibernate ur pc or u can set ur pc to go to hibernate as soon as u press the power button, this option can be set in the same control panel>power options>advanced tab.
There should be a hibernation option when you go to the shutdown menu.
THat is basically what hibernating is hibernating is basicall putting a computer in standby.
go to start, contol pannel, performance and maintenance, power options and select the one you want!
is hibernate enabled? also it doesn't really add any speed by using it.
Ask polar bears, they are good at that.
To get to the power settings for your computer
1) right click your desktop
2) select properties
3) select "screen saver" tab
4) select the "power" button at the bottom.
then adjust your power settings accordingly.
I push the hibernate button and it just goes off it's self.
It is then in stand by for next time you open up you're laptop

On a laptop, you should have a blue Fn key. Hold that down and push F1. The computer should hibernate. Push Fn+Esc to standby.
