Amd64x2 duo core any gud?

on a new laptop im lookin at, 1.6ghz 120gb hard drive. with amd64 x 2 duo core. it doesnt have SATA storage, will this have a huge effect on how it runs? is the proccesor gud?

Answers:
any way amd 64 x2 = use alot of energy and also very hot..

Use the new Intel Core 2 Duo = use alot less energy and shouldnt be as hot.
Way!! Intel's don't support MUMA properly and don't operate as true multi processor units.

AMDs rule :))

SATA is a lot faster than IDE, but I wouldn't worry, IDE still shifts 166MB every second (theoretical maximum), SATA 2 is around 300 MB (Theoretical maximum) per second, SATA 1 is around 150 MB (Theoretical maximum) per second.

HTH
The processor is great for a desktop but dual-core AMD's create a lot of heat and you'll probally find the laptop will start to overheat as soon as the fans get a little dusty and stop working at their max speed. You more than likely wont notice any difference in speed when using the computer normally between SATA and PATA so i wouldnt worry about that just maybe google the laptop for overheating problems to see if its common in that model.
yes
