Is it ok to always leave my laptop plugged into the charger?
Answers:
There is no harm leaving it plugged in but if you are not using it, it will be wiser to leave it unplugged. That way you can prolonged your battery life as you know batteries have a limited recharging cycles.
Well, it can get overheated.
I suggest when you use it, to unplug it. And when your done charge it only 2 hours at a time.
You shouldn't always have it charging though.
thats what i have. but dont do it because is you have a power outage then your computer will be a fried vegtable
It's ok to keep it plugged in, but once you do unplug it you should let the battery die completely before plugging it back in.
It keeps the battery life longer.
unplug it as soon as it's done charging. it wastes more energy than a PC.
The newer Li-Ion batteries dont have the 'memory' problems experienced by old NiCd and so dont need to be cycled (run down and then recharged) so my vote is yes, its OK (I leave mine plugged in and just shut lid (which still draws power in 'standby' mode but starts up very quickly when open the lid)
Do what "blank" said.
If you leave it on, put something under it "we use the mouse" or small book just so you don't BLOCK to air ports on the underside !!
A laptop is designed to run on its battery you can damage its battery by leaving it plugged inn all of the time as well as drain its capacity to hold a full charge if you use it for 10 minuets on battery then plug it in it stores that information in the battery after doing this for 20-30 times it thinks that is a full charge and when you need to use it without electricity it will run for that 10-15 minuets then shut your computer down thinking you have used the full charge of the battery
