I'm looking at a laptop it has a 128 MB Nvidia GeForce Go 8400M is 128mb any good can you upgrade?

Answers:
i presume your asking can you upgrade the 128 MB Nvidia GeForce Go 8400M in the future, well as with all laptops james you cant upgrade any of the internal mainboard devices in a laptop
the only 2 components in a laptop that can be upgraded are the memory and hard drive, both are quite easy to upgrade and are both farely cheap to purchase
however the 128 MB Nvidia GeForce Go 8400M is a more than competent graphics chip, and is equal to a geforce 6200 in its specifications
if you are thinking of upgrading in the future you would be far better off buying a desktop, and also they cost much less than laptops, for example for the price of a laptop with the above mentioned graphics you could buy a desktop such as the mesh Elite Quad 6600 FX(http://www.meshcomputers.com/default.asp... is a amazing p.c for its £699 price tag..just take a look at these specs.......
Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q6600 Processor
(2.40GHz ,8MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz)
SLI nForce 650i Mainboard
Now With 4GB Memory
250GB Serial ATA hard drive with 16MB buffer
256MB nVIDIA Geforce 8500GT (Dx10)
19" Widescreen TFT LCD Display w/speakers
LightScribe Super Format 18x DVD Writer
5.1 High Definition onboard sound card
Logitech 2.1 Speakers with Subwoofer
6 USB, 2x Firewire, GB LAN
Multi-format Memory Card Reader
Logitech Keyboard & Optical Mouse
1 Year Onsite Warranty (Home Service)
i know you probally have your heart set on a laptop but quad core processor,4gb ram and a geforce 8600gt graphics card, these are seriously powerful specs, not many p.c,s for less than £800 come with 4gb of ram and a quad core processor
and also you get a 19" widescreen tft monitor, which makes for in my opinion a p.c package you cant afford to miss
mesh also do some brilliant laptops such as the MESH F3JR-20(http://www.meshcomputers.com/default.asp... the MESH L735 FX(http://www.meshcomputers.com/default.asp... the later coming with a geforce 7600 graphics chip
let me give you a tip james, spend a bit of time browsing the net for the best laptop or desktop, theres loads of great bargains out there so dont jump in on the first p.c that takes your fancy, shop about
some good sites are http://www.dabs.com/,also http://www.misco.co.uk/indexuk.asp?,both... do some great p.c,s and laptops, and also try evesham computers at http://www.evesham.com/default.asp?e=aa4...
any problem or more advice let me know
good luck james!
128 won't be enough to run XP, and certainly not enough to run Vista.
Go for something with at least 1Gb RAM.
The poster above me is wrong. I think they think you mean RAM rather than graphics memory. The answer is yes, 128mb should be plenty but it will be quite difficult to upgrade, you may want to get one with 256mb if you can
It is a very good graphic card, X10 compatible, and cannot be replaced.
dont waste your money save up bit more get a decent one as cant upgrade a lot
