Im buying a laptop which is better nVIDIA GO 8400M or Intel® GMA X3000?

Answers:
You must spend your money for the best brand.

As I know HP and Dell are the best in laptops for a long time and they are very reliable too. I trusted HP and I bought a HP laptop 2 years before, and still like the day I bought it. Didn't even have to service it at least once up to now.

I recommend you to buy a HP (with experience) or Dell laptop.

On www.hp.com you can even customize your laptop. And also you can check the price.
nVIDIA GO 8400M is much better than Intel® GMA X3000
nVIDIA GO 8400 is much better than Intel's GMA X3000. intel makes the best processors and nVIDIA makes the best graphic cards
The Intel® GMA X3000 is an onboard graphics chip and therefore it performs far worse than the nVIDIA GO 8400M which is much more like a proper graphics crad performing similarly to a desktop GeForce 8 series card.
nVIDIA better than GMA X3000, EVEN BETTER THAN GMA X3100L
See bellow a test with laptops using simmilar proccessos but different graphic cards.

better than both is a desktop instead so when better cards come along you can easily upgrade rather than been stuck with whatever choice you make now
also. all you have to look forward to is the really expensive replacement battery in a few years time [they are about £100 now they only go up in price.

if you really don't need to use the PC on the move - put the extra cash that laptops cost on an even better desktop

saves me saying "i told you so!" later
i would have to agree with the other guys, the nvidia go 8400m is probally slightly better than the Intel® GMA X3000,however on a closer inspection things become a bit clearer
GeForce
8400M G GeForce
8400M GS GeForce
8400M GT
Stream Processors 8 16 16
Core Clock (MHz) 400 400 450
Shader Clock (MHz) 800 800 900
Memory Clock (MHz) 600 600 600

Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 9.6 9.6 19.2
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 3.2 3.2 3.6
------------------------------...
the intel gma x3000 has the following specs..
256-bit graphics core running at 400MHz
Up to 10.6 GB/sec memory bandwidth with DDR2 667 system memory
1.6 GPixels/sec and 1.6 GTexels/sec fill rate
Up to 224 MB maximum video memory
2048x1536 at 75 Hz maximum resolution
Dynamic Display Modes for flat-panel, wide-screen and Digital TV support
Operating systems supported: Microsoft Windows* XP, Windows* XP 64bit, Media Center Edition 2004/2005, Windows 2000; Linux-compatible (Xfree86 source available)
Up to 4 pixels per clock rendering
Microsoft* DirectX* 9 Hardware Acceleration Features:
Pixel Shader 2.0
Volumetric Textures
Shadow Maps
Slope Scale Depth Bias
Two-Sided Stencil
Microsoft* DirectX* 9 Vertex Shader 3.0 and Transform and Lighting supported in software through highly optimized Processor Specific Geometry Pipeline (PSGP)
Texture Decompression for DirectX* and OpenGL*
OpenGL* 1.4 support plus ARB_vertex_buffer and EXT_shadow_funcs extensions and TexEnv shader caching
------------------------------...
so on closer inspection both these onboard solutions have very little between them, both have pixel and shader model 3.0 and the nvidia go 8400m having only a slighter better memory bandwidth of 19.6 compared to the 12.8 of the intel
onboard graphic solutions have come a long way since the day of the old s.i.s graphics with 1mb of dediacted memory
todays onboard graphics are in some cases as good as some of the dedicated graphics cards, and they will get better
go for the nvidia go 8400m however if the laptop with the intel gma x3000 has better memory and processor i would go for that, these two graphics chips are not that far apart
i hope that helps
good luck mate!
nVidia of course!
Intel® makes entry-level Graphic processors.
