So Confused about Buying My First Laptop?
Answers:
HP 6500 would be a good choice. It can be ordered with most of the top options. A popular model from the top seller of LTs.
macs are really good for video editing, if you were to get a pc capable of that I recommend a sony viao.
just because everyone else has windows is ok. Esp if the only things you'd be transfering is ms office documents. You'd run into difficulties though if you tried to edit videos on multiple computers, which I doubt you would. I would say though that if you get a mac make sure there is a mac store around you or someone close to you who can be there to answer any questions you have if you are not familiar with a mac
MACs are too expensive and hardly compatible. Get yourself a SONY VIAO, that'll do the trick. They are made by experts in audio and video so they come with specialised audiovideo authoring software.
Check out the Sony VAIO VGN-N250E, you'll love it!
Just one recommendation. Forget using Windows Vista, it sucks and will slow down the overall performance!
I would still say get a MacBook because of the fact that it's portable and it's very easy to manage your multimedia and edit videos and burning CDs. But, since you said that your whole lifestyle revolves around Windows, you might want to get a HP or Sony. DON'T even consider Dells if you are getting a PC machine. I think that Macs will be better for you in the long run because you will be using video editing, using the internet, burning CDs, and other basic computing stuff. Macs rarely get viruses so, you won't have to spend money on anti-virus software, which is always a plus. If you do have to use Windows for some reason you can always use third-party software like Parallels. Also, you can always buy MS Office 2004 for Mac, which lets you open and create Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook files. It think its $150 for the Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac- Student and Teacher edition. And it's $400 for the standard Office 2004 for Mac. I think that the Office for Mac will solve your problem of using powerpoint, word documents, spreadsheets, etc. If you need more info, go on the Apple website and go to the store and search Office 2004 for Mac or, any other thing. Good Luck!

Get a Macbook. They are perfect. They are very fast, crash proof, fun, packed with features, and best of all they are the best deal. Mac is the most advanced operating system and it beats Windows in every catagory. Did you know Mac OS is 5 times faster then Windows Vista. Mac is easily the winner I got a Macbook and I would never switch back! Plus you can get Open Office for free if you need something that will open Microsoft Documents and save then in that format. iMovie is also great for video editing! If you get an Education discount you can get a Macbook for $900 with a free $200 iPod Nano and $100 All in One Printer. Plus anyone can get the discount all they have to do is put down some school. (Or atleast thats what I heard I can't promise)
