Wireless laptop?
Answers:
I have BT broadband and a BTwireless router.which took about 5 minutes to set up. I have had no problems with the router over the past 2 years, and you can only speak as you find.
Ask BT about a wireless router.
Linksys makes a great beginner's router.
linksys or dlink
The best brand of router is Linksys.

So... I would definately buy a linksys router, and they are fairly simple to install. But most routers install the same... so...
But definately go with Linksys. :)
Have fun!
Any wireless router from the known sellers will do nicely. Look out for DLink, Belkin, Cisco, Netgear and Linksys. All good but make sure your router can be used for wireless and at the very least includes WEP encryption for security.
This is a very good one here:

It even won the customer choice award on NewEgg.com twice. And that's saying something, because there's only a small handful of items on there that receive that award!
And yep, they are very easy to set up. They usually include step by step instructions with routers, so just follow them, and you'll have it set up in no time.
Also, just as a friendly reminder: don't forget to step up your security on it. You definitely don't want somebody leeching off your connection.
Hope this helps! :)
Netgear.instruction are rather simple...ISP provider usually very supportive
Don't get Belkin i bought one over a week ago and can't get it to work I have a computer engineer coming out today with another model to fit it all up he told me Belkin is not compatible with Tiscali!!
Charlie above me mentions Netgear and that is the one the computer engineer is bringing with him so good luck.
You could try to persuade BT to send you a Home Hub (without charging you an arm and a leg for it). If the won't, switch to AOL and get a free wireless router.
Bt if you ring then to talk about leaving etc but be nice about it will maybe give you some offers try for a hub or another wireless for free .(i know you don't want to leave but they won't know that)
as long as its not a belkin! you should be ok, i reccomend netgear.
Netgear!
I got a Netgear DG834G 54Mbps Wireless Router free from AOL its a really good router.
What you should do is look on the BT website and look for wireless adaptors that BT support, so they can give you tailored information on how to install it. I know AOL offer a similar service for existing customers upgrading to wireless routers.
