I am wanting to buy a new laptop/notebook, which one of these 2 are better?
Answers:
Personally I would go with the Toshiba. The quality on Acer has been pretty low in my personal experience. Though I have just purchased a different model Acer to use until my HP gets repaired (Again.) and its acceptable, though not great.
You didn't say what you wanted to do with it, but I will assume that you just want to do "normal" stuff, word processing and websurfing...
All three will certainly fulfill those needs. The firewire port on the Toshiba is nice if you have an iPod or Video camera that could utilize it. If you plan on doing anything with 3D graphics, a notebook isn't a good idea thanks to the shared memory for the video card. (Takes away from the 2GB RAM.) The Toshiba does allow you to share up to 319MB (vs Acer 224MB) so you will probably be able to get somewhat respectable video out of it.
The processors are pretty comparable. I believe, though not 100% sure, that the AMD one on the Toshiba will use less power than the Intel. So if battery life is important you may want to consider that as well. Though don't plan on much more than 2-3 hrs battery life anyway with lower end notebooks.
Good luck!
toshiba
acer aspire.. hurmm, as for my thought, if you choosing acer try search for travelmate series as it though
I'd go with the Acer.
Acer Aspire 15.4" Widescreen Notebook PC (5630-6288)
That one is much better I am judging by how new the processor is. It would be the one I would get. Just looking at the raw specs.
All three are OK. The Toshiba has a potentially better processor for future programs, but not that much. Which ever you buy look at possibility of getting an extended no fault warranty if you are going to be transporting it around such as at school.
i have the first one it rocks my friend has the second 1 its shuts down all the time
The 2nd 1 that is hot!
i have the one from wal mart! i love it! i got it for my 17th birthday this year. I love it! it is going to help me with my schooling and my other things i have going on. So i would rcommand the acer one! its awesome
I would go with the Acer Aspire because it's Processor Type and Brand are better and more well known. The hard drive speed is questionable, and it's smaller than the other. All in all, I'd say the pros outweigh the cons, and it ships! Ha. I suppose it all comes down to what you will use this laptop for...
by my opinion intel is the best, so buy first or last laptop (that in middle - amd - have maybe a bit batter graphic card but i don't like amd)
by the way, all three notebooks are very very similar
Hmm.there seems to be an issue with Walmarts listing. It states that the Acer has a 'ATI Mobility Radeon X1300' graphic card in the description. But, if you scroll down to the spec list, it states a 'Intel GMA 950' graphic solution. Just what one would expect from Walmart. I would buy from someplace else on that reason alone. Walmart buys at such a large quantity to get lower prices, this in turn will get the manufacturer to install lower cost cheap components. You, the consumer get a notebook that may not last as long as the same notebook bought some where else.
If you look at Walmart's clothes, do you think they last as long as others bought elsewhere...

I would stay away from Acer because their support is by far the worst I've seen, and I do a lot searching on support sites to help answer peoples questions.
As a suggestion try here
http://www.dell.com/content/products/cat...
For refurbished ones, same guarantee, warranty and service as new but at a much reduced price.

Dells' online support is about the best I've found, may not seem like much but just wait till something happens, and you need help NOW
Have to go with the top core 2 duo CPU in the CC Acer.
