How do you Reformat A Sony Vaio Laptop?

OK like i tried all sorts of things and none seems to work. i have my Windows Xp disc and it still doesnt work because when i boot Bios Setup, its set to legacy floppy drive and im like WTF.. and it wont let me do anything else! So please, anyone with this laptop! please tell me how to reformat it!

Send it in if its under warranty. When that problem happened to me and I tried to reinstall my OS, I fried the hard drive. So might as well call Sony up.
You need to change that setting in the bios from Floppy disk as the 1st boot device, to have it say CDROM.

After you change it, Save your Settings and exit.
Restart the computer and keep hitting F10. That should start the VAIO recovery module and you can do a restore from there.
