Mac or sony vaio?
i have lots of music
lots of documents for homework
and the other stuff you would need for college
and all those fun stuff
which one do you think is best for college?

Most people have never used Sony Vaios, so they really don't know how good they are. Also, most Mac users lie about their things, or exaggerate, don't tell the whole truth, or do anything to get people to come to their side. Some of it's true, and some isn't. They're good, but the users are not so good.
I go to college, and most people love to whistle and stare at my Sony Vaio. Macbook Pro is also a looker, but I've got more stronger looks at my Vaio than my old MBP. Just because Vaios are so different, yet good. People really admire it, and ask where I got it. Like it's some foreign brand. You can just get it at a Sony Store, or other retailer.
I'm in college too right now, and it's helped me a lot. The design and aesthetics are so wonderful to bring along. It's really portable, and it just works. My MBP on the other hand, is a bit more heavier. Using my Vaio for schoolwork is easy. I use Office 2007, and it really helps makes my reports, graphs, docs, all look nice. Mac has nothing like that. Also, OS X on the Mac, doesn't work too well with some of the stuff I needed for college, so I just left it at home. I find taking it is not so useful at all.
I have used both a MacBook Pro and a Sony Vaio, and let me tell you, the Vaio is way better.
I used my MacBook Pro for about 1/2 a year. It worked fine for the most part. I found myself using the Windows side of my Mac more, because OS X isn't compatible with lots of stuff, it was kind of more slow, and I just preferred Windows more. I only liked the Mac because it looked nice on the outside, not on the inside. I had several problems with it, and AppleCare treated me real awful. The first time they're nice with you (to get good reviews), but the 2nd time, they're real lazy. They said my coverage didn't work, and I would have to buy a new one. What a scam.
I got it fixed, and use it very little now. I bought a Sony Vaio and let me tell you, it's so awesome. The Vaio has a real nice sexy design. Even better than the Mac I should say. In fact, the Macbook Pro tries to imitate the previous Vaios, but a Mac fan won't admit to that. The Vaio works real well for me.
I'm using Windows Vista on it, and I've had no problems. None at all, except some compatibility problems. But that's it. I use a very good anti-virus called Live OneCare, and it's very easy to use. High-speed internet makes the whole thing so much more nicer.
So buy a Sony Vaio, you won't regret it. I'm a trained expert, and I know the difference between Macs and PC's. I love both.

Mac. But you wont be disappointed in the Vaio. Very good laptop, and probably less than the Mac depending on what you get on it.
I'm not much of a MAC fan - The Viao will probably be running Windows, and even though it's not the best OS in the world you will probably find a greater amount of compatibility with other people and their files if you are using Windows.

As a college student you get discount from the Apple store. Every college, all colleges have an Apple Store...
Mac Book Pro its a great Machine... I own a Mac Pro (Tower) I purchase it from my college Store with the discount. I'm Happy with it for what i need as a Multimedia guy.. to run Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio, and other applications as Photoshop...
Fast Computer mine has 4GB Memory Ram and latest Graphic Card... you can configure your own...

OK i heard some one saying that Mac doesnt have anything like Microsoft Office 07... Wrong!! you have Apple Work and it is less expensive around 60$ and Office 07 its arround 300$ -.- and i do well with Apple Works it has everything for College Students.
And I'm not a lier about My Mac it work fine and it is a wonderful Computer! I never got Viruses only if i share Files with Windows thing that i dont do... I was a PC user before and i definitely like Mac OS better (I was a PC user my entire life) just have to admit that Mac OS is better and friendly.
Apple does not imitate any other OS .. windows did with Vista . windows always tried to get on top bad thing their OS is never done well that after ...they have to come out with service Packs or more bunch of upgrades, I'm not talking about the Machines but OS. I'm not saying that Sony does not have a good looking , it has a nice looking but with a bad OS . EVen Linux is getting better
definitely mac.i have one and i love it.it's pretty,easy to use and it doesn't catch viruses.plus,you could get free appointment at the apple store if any problems
