I was using my brother's laptop yesterday and I noticed that the front tip of the ac adapter( also known as charger) was bitten..obviously my dog did this...and soo i left the laptop unattended when i came back it was shut down..I tried turning it on but it wouldn't..I'm thinking the battery is dead and there is no way to charge it because the ac adapter doesn't work...It won't turn back on at alll ...for sure the battery of the laptop is dead..and by the way its a sony vaio VGN T140P so it's very expensive...I have to fix this laptop..so i'm thinking of replacing the ac adapter which isn't that pricyy but im not sure if its the ac adapter or the battery that I need to buy...because i cannot afford the battery its probably $300 ahha buy the way im only 17 years old..and the ac adapter i can afford and it's only about $52. Yes I have told my brotherrr he says I have to buy a new charger..so what do you think...do i need to purchase an ac adapter or battery oh andbythewaywherecanigetthem

look at the adapter's back and see what watt and amp output it has then get a universal one from ebay. You will need an account which requires a debit card or just find someone who already has an account.

you can buy a new one at a www.laptopsforless.com, you will need to input the make and model of your laptop,or the model or part number of the charger. I dont think its your battery,take the charger to a electronics store and see if they can test it with a volt meter, that's how we do it at our store.
