for the price its a very good computer. Ram is ok, BUT this computer would work much better with windows XP. usually you would spend $679 for that specific model, so you are saving $150. go ahead and buy it, IF you don't plan on playing online video games. As far as the basic computing such as Internet browsing, Microsoft office applications, pictures, music, and even movies, it will do a good job. oh, i misssed one important detail....this laptop will work just fine if you use one application or two at once. don't try watching a video, playing a music file or buring a music cd, at once because it will be very slow lol
Only had time for a quick look but the areas that would concern me are
1. it seems light on RAM - but perhaps I misread that.
2. it seems very heavy at 6lbs
3. it has Vista, not an operating system I concern useful, but that is my personal view. I have some concerns about its ability to support drivers for various peripherals.
If you are buying because you need it to do basic computer things such as email and word processing, then it is fine. Gateway isnt the best brand of computers out there but for very light users it is fine.
its a good notebook if your not planning on useing it to do a lot of things at once...
if your like me and you like to have a lot of windows open at once youd probably want to get it upgraded.
and plus.windows vista its self takes a lot of gigs to run it...
its a good price and nice notebook for doing school work, like typing and doing reseach.. but like i said if your a gamer or a myspacer you would want to upgrade the memory.
